Spring has arrived!  Our minds are going to all the things that need to be done!  Spring cleaning, garden preparations, touching things up and celebrating!  Not only at home do these things need to be done but also in our community and at the Lubbock State Supported Living Center.  Volunteers are our largest asset in being able to accomplish these things here on our campus.

For those of you that are so faithful to us please check out the Event Calendar to see opportunities coming up.

And for those of you looking for a new place to Volunteer we welcome you! 

Our Application process is as follows: 

ON-LINE VOLUNTEER APPLICATION and  ORIENTATION

There are Three easy steps plus Fingerprinting.

All 4 must be completed before you may volunteer:

NOTE: This usually takes about a 7-12 days, depending on when you are able to be fingerprinted.

(1) Dads Volunteer Application:  All of these can be done on-line or on paper.   NOTE: If you have already filled out the application & CBC forms, go directly to Training /Orientation. NOTE: After completing the application you will have to click on “State Supported Living Center” again to go back to main page.

(2) 4 Forms Criminal History (CBC) & Acknowledgement: will be e-mailed to you.  These need to be filled out and signed, then e-mailed or printed and brought to us.

(3) For Training / Orientation: Scroll down to bottom of Volunteer webpage and complete the:Web based training includes 6 categories.   When you do the last one you will be given a certificate. Please print or copy & e-mail to us.

PLUS    The HIPAA category - the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act - second certificate to print or e-mail to me.

2 certificates total will need to be printed and returned or emailed to show you completed:            (1) Orientation (2) HIPAA

(4)  FINGER PRINT BACKGROUND CHECK: After the Application is turned in to Volunteer Services- you will need to have this done.  It is free of charge. You will be given a map & pass.Return the receipt to Volunteer Services as proof the fingerprint was done. You will then be informed by Volunteer Services when you are approved to begin Volunteering.

 **** PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MAY NOT BEGIN VOLUNTEERING UNTIL YOU HAVE WRITTEN OR VERBAL CLEARANCE FROM VOLUNTEER SERVICES***
